Winning Treasury - Challenge #27

Some words from TheJetty......

Dear Nonteamies,

Thank you all for the beautiful treasuries you have made!!! We've spent the last four days happy as clams, awash in gorgeous collections of nautical treasures. We were particularly impressed with the diversity of themes you all created out of our gray sperm whale t-shirt. They ranged from the classic nautical, through many kinds of whales, ships, the sea, animals, tales, tails, Nantucket, islands, beach, eco-earth, girl meets boy, love, carnivals, ink, and wearable art, all the way to, well, sperm!

Some of these treasuries were so close to home we had to wonder: one was about a woman, called Ms. Little, walking along the beach looking for archeological treasures. This just so happens was a trademark behavior of my mother, Ms. Little, an archeologist. Many were about places we had been and or themes we adore. And, as if being featured wasn't enough, imagine 200 people scouring Etsy for just the items you love! And the incredible range of nautical items you found. After we commented and clicked, we favorite'd.

Plus, three of your perfect treasuries were selected for the Etsy front page, which put quite a bit of zing into our activity feed! Congratulations and thank you!!

This has been a truly overwhelming experience that a little paragraph of thanks can hardly touch.

And we are suppose to choose ONE of these treasuries to win?? The nonteam has very few rules, but this one is by far the hardest.

After carefully and repeatedly reviewing each treasury, we narrowed the selection down to 40 absolutely stunning collections. After biting the bullet and doing some hard cuts we narrowed this down to 16, any one of which could easily have been a winner. Then we made a final push to pick the one that most balanced all the factors we have enjoyed in these treasuries: colors, texture, weight, ocean items, and overall effect, and decided to select the "Yellow Submarine" from Riversongrapture as the winner of this week's challenge. We love the sea items, the muted colorfulness, the diversity and balance, and the tone of this quiet but alive coral reef-like collection.

We will be posting the 15 honorable mentions in the discussion area on Tuesday.

Thank you for all the effort you put into your treasuries and into making the nonteam so much fun, this has been a wonderful and memorable experience for us.

I am so thrilled that my treasury was picked!!!
I am an avid scuba diver and absolutely love the ocean so it was great fun using some of my favorite ocean inspired Etsy items as well as looking for and finding a few new ones to complete this treasury.
Thanks to TheJetty for choosing such an inspiring feature item!
