First off I'd absolutely like to Thank Nadja from Dreamsand for the Amazing Honor of having my Treasury "In Through The Out Door" chosen as the Winner of last weeks Challenge!! I am well aware of the Incredible Treasury making Talent on this Team after participating in 50+ of these Challenges and I am just so Grateful that mine spoke "winning" words in Nadja's ear. I would also like to Thank Sarah and ALL the other Most Wonderful Women who Volunteer their time to make the NonTeam the BEST Team in Etsyland!
I chose the Poetry Birds as the Inspiration Piece despite quite of few of the NonTeamies suggesting my more "darker" work in the "Laying Odds" thread. I was tempted to go darker but I just couldn't shake my gut feeling to go with the Lighter and more Hope-Full Birdies and I'm so glad I did. I'll also let you in on a little secret: I'm a Story Teller at heart. I love Stories and I love looking at all the Stories that other's tell through whatever medium they are using to express their Creativity whether it be Paint, Photography, Clay, Jewelry, Fiber, Wood, Vintage pieces, etc. Treasury's are made up of not only 16 different Stories by 16 different Artists/Collectors but they are then put together by the Person who is "telling" this Collaged Tale and so they are the ultimate Story! I was so looking forward to seeing the Fables and Sagas that the Awesome NonTeamies created with my Poetry Birds and I was not disappointed.
There were so many Unique, Clever and Wondrous Stories:
The Autumn Colourway and Compositions of Exquisite Light had a lot of Big, Beautiful Storylines. Positive, Poetic and Uplifting Words were also a Magnificently Important part of many a Narrative. There were Tragic Tales of Longing and Melancholy Loss and Yearning; Whimsical Fables of Aviation and Artistic Endeavors; Imaginings of Peace, Love, Hope and Joy told with such Beauty; Historical Dramas of Social Movements; Geometric Chronicles and Poetic Riddles; Romantic Sagas of Weddings and First Loves; Parables of Sublime Spiritual Enlightenment and Hope-Full Beginnings; there were even Movies Re-Told, Reports of an August Christmas and Recitals of Rock and Roll! Through all of these Stories was woven the Common Thread of the Poetry Birds and bound them all together in one Huge Gorgeous Tapestry Narrative I will never forget and I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to each and every one of you who contributed to it!!
{{Now, before I announce the Winner I would like to say one thing: I had to disqualify numerous really Beautiful Collections because they were tagged with other Team's Tags and I mean, there were 2 or 3 that would have been in the running to win. I also can't even put them on the Honorable Mentions List......Just Sayin'......}}
As you have read before, this was HARD! Hard. Hard. HARD!!! As I said, I SO love Stories and my Poetry Birds and I thought we had been encapsulated in a Surreal Library with the Best Stories ever composed so choosing just one Winner felt like I was betraying ALL the other Amazing Tales! But I had to choose one and it was the Story with such Powerful and Brilliantly Beautiful Curation and Extraordinary Relevance to me {and I can only imagine others} that I couldn't shake it's Images and it's Narrative, even when I was looking at the other 3 Treasuries I had narrowed down to the "Final Four". So, without further ado, I'd like to announce this weeks Winner:
Maxwell of artsdesirable with "I Have A Dream", a Stunningly Executed Tale of Martin Luther King Jr. and the Road to Freedom in the American Civil Rights Movement!
Congratulations Maxwell, you are in for one FUNtastic Rocket Ride full of Fabulous Tales!! And Thank You again Nadja and everyone who participated, they were ALL the Perfect Story!
:)
