A creative challenge open to all members of Etsy! Create a treasury around the Inspiration Item. Win the Challenge and the Inspiration Item for the next Challenge will be something of yours! Who knows how many treasuries will be created with your item!
AwakenJournaling will be judging the Challenge this week. It's totally up to her as to what she's looking for. Make the best treasury(ies) you can and just maybe one of your items will be featured in our next Challenge!
Our first Inspiration Item is.....
Leather Writing Journal with Antique Skeleton Key from AwakenJournalingEveryone is welcome to take part in this Challenge. There's no team to join.
Create a treasury (or as many as you'd like) using the Inspiration Item above as one item in your treasury. Fill the rest of the treasury with any other items on etsy. Follow etsy's treasury guidelines. Do not include any of your own items. Make your treasury awesome - great photos, variety of item types and prices, etc. Add descriptive tags to your treasury and give it a creative title.
You have five days - until Tuesday, October 19th, (noon - eastern time) to create your treasury(ies). The winner, the new Inspiration Item, and the next Challenge will be posted on Thursday, October 21st.
Requirements for Participation in this Challenge...
1. Read the guidelines.
2. Become a follower of this blog.
3. Include the Inspiration Item in any of the first 12 spots (not as an alternate).
4. Tag your treasury with nonteamchallenge 1. (separated by a space) Be sure that it shows up in this search by the deadline for judging. (If your treasury doesn't show up there, it won't be judged.)
5. Be sure to include a link to the blog or this post in your treasury description. (http://treasurychallengenonteam.blogspot.com/2010/10/nonteam-treasury-challenge-1.html) If it doesn't fit into the description, you may leave it in the first comment.
6. Leave a link to your treasury in our weekly promo thread by the deadline. Please don't leave a link in our thread in the Business section. Admin may see it as a promo thread and move it there.
7. Make sure that if you win, you'll be available to judge the next week's Challenge - and report the winning treasury by the next Wednesday.
8. Support other participants - View/Comment/Click on at least a few other treasuries in the Challenge.
Suggestions (not required) ...
* Keep your treasury updated during the Challenge. Replace sold/expired items. (Don't replace the Inspiration Item should it sell.)
* Tweet, Facebook, Blog, etc to spread the word about your treasury and our Challenges.
* Use items from other participating shops if you'd like and if their items fit your theme.
* Convo people that you included in your treasury.
* Come back next week to participate again!
We've made a change to the Guidelines page. Instead of having this week's winner choose the next Inspiration Item, we think it would be better to have the new winner choose her own item. That way she can choose something in which the quantity can be raised if she wishes.

I've been looking through all the great treasuries that have be posted with the nonteamchallenge 1 tag, and I'm so excited about how many there are and the wonderful quality of them all.
The only thing that worries me is that for many of them, not many of the shops that are included are listed here in the side bar. Aren't we only supposed to include nonteammembers? Or is there another member list somewhere that I've totally missed?

You are right. The treasuries look GREAT! Using shops from our participating list was simply a suggestion. Some people have chosen to include a few of their non-team mates and some people have not included any of them.
There are going to be a few changes to the non team list but that explanation will come when we get the kinks worked out. Thanks!!!
